Re-inventing horror music thru Guitar Virtuosity

Heavily influenced by composers Sergei Rachmaninoff and Antonio Vivaldi, and deeply scarred by the writings of H. P. Lovecraft, I have endeavored to create instrumental music forms capable of expressing the darker melodies that resonate in my mind.  Minor tonalities, dissonance, and odd-time signatures are characteristic elements of each music form and are present in varying degrees depending on the musical style they are being molded into, whether it’s classical, jazz, or metal.  The thematic element that unifies the music forms, though, is musical intensity through guitar improvisation and performance modeled after the works of Nicolo Paganini and Django Reinhardt.

The following is a listening guide to the music forms created so far:

“Symphonia” and “Compendium Tenebricosus” are classically inspired, complex orchestral compositions reminiscent of a horror-film soundtrack.
“Il Capricci Diabolici” and “The Heiligenstadt Testament” are progressive metal creations that rely heavily on improvised melodies and eerie harmonic passages.
“Paranormal Jazz Project” is best described as pseudo jazz, featuring horns, drums, piano, and acoustic bass in a variety of haunting environments.
“Thirteen Toccatas” is a collection of my solo nylon-string guitar compositions.

Enjoy!
